Charles Jeannes

Charles “Chuck” Jeannes

Attention, patience and focus—just three of the qualities that make Chuck Jeannes not only an excellent outdoorsman, but also a successful business leader. It was focus that made him aware he wanted to be a lawyer even before high school, and focus that led to him landing a job in mining at the end of his first year of law school. Attention to the bigger picture made it possible for Chuck to branch out to the business side of things—he eventually joined Placer Dome, and became Vice President of North America. He then moved to Glamis, where he held the roles of Executive Vice President, Administration; General Counsel, and Secretary. When Glamis was acquired by Goldcorp, Chuck became Executive Vice President, Corporate Development, and then President and Chief Executive Officer until his retirement from management. He’s currently  a Director of Pan American Silver Corp. (formerly Tahoe Resources Inc.) and a Director of Wheaton Precious Metals Corp. (formerly Silver Wheaton Corp.). When Chuck joined Orla, his patience in finding the exact right people paid off—he helped build the company and its team, selecting and mentoring members with care to the point that they don’t just work like a well-oiled machine—they actually enjoy spending time together. When he’s not with the Orla team, Chuck travels the world with his wife, practising attention, patience and focus as they fly fish together in some of the planet’s most beautiful places.
