If you look up the word “polymath” in the dictionary, there could very well be a picture of Paul Mann beside it. He absolutely loves to learn, and no subject is off limits. While studying for his Mechanical Engineering degree at the University of British Columbia, he also took French so he could get a job in Quebec. He worked as an electrical engineer, and then switched gears and became a Chartered Accountant. Paul has brought his extensive financial expertise to the mining industry for over 30 years, with companies like Hunter Dickinson Inc, Eldorado Gold Corp, Fortuna Silver Mines Inc, Continental Minerals Corp, and De Beers Canada Mining Inc. He joined Orla in 2018, and thoroughly enjoys mentoring and developing his team. In another life, Paul would have become a teacher—he’s even taught himself organic chemistry. Being a supportive dad and dedicated family man is the most rewarding job Paul’s ever had. And when he’s relaxing, he likes to just “drink coffee and do calculus questions.”
